Rioters fight police in Denver streets after Stanley Cup win

10 Jun

Riots in the streets of Denver after the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup led to clashes as police attempted to clear the ‘out of control’ crowd that had been setting fires in the streets and generally engaging in mayhem.

Fireworks were set off and bottles were thrown at riot cops.

Multiple businesses’ storefronts had their windows broken.

700 cops were deployed against the crowd. They launched tear gas and made dozens of arrests. Several people were injured.

Army surplus stores reported brisk sales of gas masks.
